Ministries

There is something for everyone at Way of the Cross Baptist Church . We have Sunday School classes for every age. We also have worship services developed for children ages 4 to 10 years old during the 10:30 am  worship service and the Wednesday night worship service. We have a very active group for adult ladies called Ladies in Action. Details of these ministries are provide below.

Crosswalk for Kids

Hello everyone, and welcome to Crosswalk for Kids, the Wednesday night children’s program at Way of the Cross Baptist Church .  Our age group is 4 year to 10 years of age.

We meet each Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.  The session usually consists of silly songs, games, and a biblical lesson.  One Wednesday a month is WACKY WEDNESDAY.  We devote the whole night to a special fun activity.  Some past wacky Wednesdays have been slip-n-slide night, bike night, game night, and movie in our PJ’s night.  While all these things are fun, our main focus is getting these young people under the sound of the Gospel. Romans 10:17 says “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”.

The apostle Paul wrote these words to one of his young preachers. In II Timothy 3:15 the Bible tells us  “And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus”.

Our hope for the Wednesday night children’s group is simple; expose children to the Word of God.  There are some that seek to indoctrinate, set to memorization, and even manipulate, we only seek to get young ears under the sound of the Gospel.  We are confident that God will give increase in His own good time.

Children's Church

Our Children’s Church program is for children between the ages of 4 and 10 years old. There are two young couples who primarily work in our Children’s Church. They are Adam and Suzanne Hollis and Shannon and Cyndi Peterson .

Our Children's Church is a ministry intended for children four years old to age ten. Our goal is to teach the values and principles of the Christian Life. We do this through Bible readings and teachings, parables, real life examples, arts, crafts, and games. We intend for Children's Church to be a fun learning environment, while also training and teaching the children how to behave in the adult church services.

Upon graduating from Children's Church at age ten, the children will move into the " Big Church " for the Sunday and Wednesday night services. They will also be welcomed into the Pathfinders youth group that meets on Friday nights.

Crosstrainers

The Crosstrainers group is our older youth group class for high school age young people. Bro. Steven and Ms. Lynne Bell have been the leaders for this group basically since it’s inception. They meet as a Sunday School class on Sunday mornings as well as a weekly meeting on Friday nights.

The goal of this ministry is to provide an environment that focuses on our young people becoming the Christian adults that they should be.  As with all our other ministries, the focus is on Jesus Christ.

The Crosstrainers group enjoys monthly activities that include special theme gatherings, trips to Six Flags, the North Georgia mountains, tubing and scavenger hunts.

One of the greatest testimonies to our Crosstrainers ministry is the fact that the leaders for many of our other ministries are young adults than came up through our youth program when they were of high school age. There are also four preachers in our church who God has called that were previously part of this group.

Pathfinders

The Way of the Cross Pathfinders are the middle school age group.  We are the future of the church.  Our group is fun, energetic, and eager to come to church.  We meet for Sunday School at 9:30 am and Fridays at 6:30 pm.  On Sundays, Bro. Robert brings our lessons that will help them handle being in the world and keep Christ in our lives.  On Friday night it is a safe haven where the youth can come together, have a Christ-centered devotion, fun games, and hang out for dinner.  We invite you to come Sunday and join us.  Come be a part of the Pathfinders.

Heaven Bound

Heaven Bound is the youth choir at Way of the Cross Baptist Church . It consists of the teenagers from both the Crosstrainers and the Pathfinders which are our two sections of the youth group. Heaven Bound allows us to sing about God and to have a closer relationship with Him and also to create tighter bonds with the people in the youth group by giving us a chance to work together on something. It allows us to work together as a team and build closer friendships with the other people in the group. We all enjoy singing and praising God and it means so much to see the people listening to us sing along with a smile on their face or tears in their eyes, and to share what God has done for us by sending his only Son that we might be saved.
